Domingo Nick Reyes papers, ca. 1940-1985.

Consists of correpondence, certificates and licenses, speeches, proposals, opinion surveys, leaflets, clippings, publications, photographs, financial records, videotapes, sound tapes, motion picture film, placques, and sound discs. Reflects the activities of Domingo Nick Reyes and his family from about 1940, with the bulk of the material dating from the 1970s and early 1980s. Most of the correspondence relates to Reyes' consulting work, in which he conducted surveys and prepared presentations for clients in the energy industry, the United States Navy, and Hispanic American organizations. Includes some research materials for publications Reyes did on prominent Mexican Americans and Mexican Americans in engineering and technology. Films and videos contain programs relating to Hispanic Americans. Includes shows from a television series, Domingo (Arlington, Va.), co-hosted by Reyes and his wife Conchita. Sound tapes include promotional spots aimed at Hispanic audiences. Photographs show Reyes as radio announcer and television program host, his family and friends, travel snapshots, conferences, and television shows featuring Mexican Americans or other Hispanics. Some images address negative stereotyping of Hispanics in the United States.
